Somalia drops COVID restrictions for travellers

Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia's Ministry of Health announced that it has removed testing requirements for the COVID-19 virus at the airport.

According to a press release issued by the ministry, people travelling to Somalia are no longer required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test.

Somalia has followed the majority of other countries in abolishing all entry conditions for air travellers, regardless of their country of origin.

Earlier this month the WHO announced that Somalia reached its target vaccinating 30% of its population fully against COVID-19 disease.

Since the pandemic's onset, Somalia has recorded 27,243 cases and 1,361 deaths. Earlier this month the WHO announced that Somalia reached its target vaccinating 30% of its population fully against COVID-19 disease.
