Mogadishu (HOL) - Southwest regional state minister of justice Sheikh Hassan Ibrahim Lugbuur and his son were killed in a suicide bombing in Baidoa on Friday after they left a mosque.No one has claimed responsibility for the blast, but the president of Southwest state, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, said the explosion was behind the al-Shabaab group.
At least 11 other people, including another son of the late minister, were reportedly injured in the attack, according to the local officials.
The killing of the minister comes two days after a suicide bomber in Merca town killed 13 people, including the town's mayor Abdullahi Ali Wafow.
Baidoa, the largest city in the Southwest state, is located 245 kilometres (152 miles) southwest of the capital Mogadishu.
