A group of 600 Somali soldiers graduated in Mogadishu on Tuesday (August 14th) after training for more than six months in Uganda, Somalia's Radio Risaala reported.
Somali Defence Minister Hussein Arab Isse, General Abdikadir Sheikh Ali Dijni and Puntland Security Minister Khalif Ise Mudan attended the ceremony at the Jazeera Military Camp in Mogadishu, where soldiers performed military manoeuvres learned in the training.
The officials urged graduates to defend the Somali nation and its people. They also said the government would soon pay the soldiers four months' salaries in arrears.
