Somali police commander chairs meeting on security and service reforms

Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali Police Force (SPF) Commander Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi chaired a meeting in Mogadishu on Thursday to review strategies for improving security operations and public service delivery.

The meeting, attended by senior police leadership including Deputy Commander Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi, focused on strengthening security measures, enhancing vigilance, and ensuring that all units comply with directives from the general command.

Discussions also highlighted the fight against dangerous narcotics, improving the appearance of police centers, and modernizing service processes to deliver faster and more efficient services to citizens.

“This meeting aligns with the government’s broader commitment to transparent governance and institutional reform,” General Asad said, urging police units to intensify their efforts to protect the public and strengthen cooperation with communities.

The SPF has recently stepped up operations in Mogadishu targeting drugs and insecurity, part of ongoing efforts to improve accountability and boost operational effectiveness.
