Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia and Saudi Arabia signed the
1447/2026 Hajj quota agreement in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday. Under the
agreement, Somalia’s annual Hajj quota is set at 11,500 pilgrims.
The agreement was signed by Somali Minister of Endowments
and Religious Affairs Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali and his Saudi counterpart, Dr.
Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, in Jeddah.
The Somali delegation, led by Minister Robow, has been in
Saudi Arabia participating in the annual Hajj and Umrah Services Exhibition,
known as Hajj Expo, which gathers representatives from Muslim countries
worldwide to coordinate and enhance services for pilgrims.
Somalia was recognized among the top-performing countries in
providing quality services to its pilgrims, achieving 4th place globally in the
2025 rankings. The country received special recognition and a dedicated
pavilion to showcase the various services it offers to Somali pilgrims in
preparation for the upcoming Hajj season.
The Ministry announced that the estimated price for the full
Hajj package for 1447/2026 shall not exceed $4,543.50 (four thousand five
hundred forty-three dollars and fifty cents). Payments are strictly prohibited
until the Ministry officially announces the final fee.
