Mogadishu (HO) — The football teams of Warsheikh and
Howlwadaag districts are set to face off in the final match of the Banadir
Regional Football Tournament at Mogadishu Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Hundreds of football fans from Mogadishu and nearby
neighborhoods are expected to fill the stadium to watch the highly anticipated
final. The tournament, held over the past several weeks, has generated great
excitement among teams and supporters alike.
This marks the concluding match of the Banadir Regional
District Competition, which has proceeded smoothly in Mogadishu in recent days.
Officials from the Federal Government of Somalia and the
Banadir Regional Administration are expected to attend the match between the
Warsheikh and Howlwadaag teams.
The match will be officiated by internationally recognized
Somali referee Omar Abdulqadir Artan, known for his experience in major
football competitions.
Meanwhile, the Banadir Regional Police Command has issued
strict security measures, banning weapons from entering Mogadishu Stadium.
Authorities warned that anyone found carrying items that threaten public safety
will face legal action.
