Somali PM Hamza Abdi Barre attends China-Arab States Expo in Yinchuan

Mogadishu (HOL) — Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has arrived in Yinchuan, China, to attend the 7th China-Arab States Expo, scheduled from August 28 to 31, 2025.

Hamza is expected to deliver a keynote address highlighting Somalia’s investment opportunities and stressing the importance of enhancing economic ties and strategic cooperation between China and Arab countries.

He is also expected to underscore Somalia’s diverse investment prospects aimed at boosting development and improving livelihoods for the Somali people.

The forum, held at the Sheraton Hotel in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, aims to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and energy between China and Arab states.

The event is organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Committee, and the League of Arab States, in partnership with the Union of Arab Chambers.

The expo serves as a key platform for deepening economic and diplomatic ties between China and the Arab world, with discussions expected to focus on strategic partnerships and development opportunities.
