Istanbul (HOL) — The 10th Annual International Conference of the Global Somali Diaspora (GSD) opened in Istanbul on Saturday, focusing on the role of the Somali diaspora in the country's development and rebuilding efforts.
In his address at the opening session, Somali Ambassador to Turkey, Fathudin Ospite, highlighted the importance of the conference, which has brought together several Somali federal government ministers and distinguished delegates from around the world.
"A large Somali community, mostly students, resides in Turkey and is crucial in strengthening cultural, business, and economic ties between the two nations. Also, other Somali diaspora communities across the globe are making great contributions to the country," Ospite said.
