Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali special forces officer Hanad Ahmed Muse, a member of the elite Haramcad police unit, was killed in his home on Saturday in the Moalim Noor neighbourhood of Dharkenley district, Mogadishu.
According to local residents, the officer was shot by government soldiers, though the motive behind the killing remains unclear. The government’s security agencies have not released an official statement regarding the incident.
In recent months, violent incidents involving government forces have seen a decrease in Mogadishu, partly due to stricter military sentencing for crimes such as murder and robbery.
However, this latest incident has raised concerns about internal security within the government ranks.
