Three Al-Shabaab members surrender to Somalia security forces in Baidoa

    Baidoa (HOL) – Three Al-Shabaab members surrendered to security forces and the National Intelligence Service of Somalia (NISA) in Baidoa, the capital of the Bay region.

    According to NISA forces, the defectors, Ibrahim Hussein Mohamed, Nur Mohamed Abukar, and Yare Ali Hussein, will go through the same procedures as other group members who have surrendered.

    The government stated that the men had been hiding in the Bay, Bakool, Lower Shabelle, and Hiiraan regions. During interviews, they said they could no longer endure the hardships faced by the Khawarij in the field and urged their friends to surrender to the government.

    The South West administration areas are among the regions where Al-Shabaab remains strong. Several Al-Shabaab defectors have surrendered in the South West.
