Mogadishu (HOL) - A member of the Al-Shabaab group was sentenced to death today by a military court on Tuesday for the murder of Khadijo Siyad Mohamed in Mogadishu.
Ibrahim Adan Maadey, known within the group as Abdirahman, was convicted for killing Mohamed in front of her house in the Hodan district. Reports state that Maadey asked Mohamed for water, and when her daughter brought it, he shot Mohamed multiple times in the head.
Maadey, who received a salary of $70 to $90 from Al-Shabaab, was arrested by security forces shortly after the incident.
The sentence was handed down by Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ali Noor Shute, the lead judge of the military court.
