Qatar Charity (QC) built and equipped two mosques in the city of Garuwe in Somalia and the Charsadda region in Pakistan, in the presence of many officials from both countries.
The Taiba Mosque was opened in the Somali city of Garoowe, in the presence of the Minister of State for Justice, Endowments and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Ali Warsame, in the Somali state of Puntland, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Public Relations, Abdul Qadir Abdul Tahir Farah, in addition to several officials, and sheikhs in the city.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Sheikh Warsame, praised QC’s distinguished efforts in building the Taibah Mosque with high quality.
In Pakistan, a Jami Mosque was built in the Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The mosque can accommodate about 480 people. The mosque was also fully designed and equipped, and included a space designated for teaching the Holy Qur’an to children.
Hayat Khan, local government co-ordinator in Charsadda District, said: “We are very happy, thank Qatar Charity and the Qatari people for building this mosque, which was established in a decent and comfortable way for worshippers.”
Hafez Abdel Zada, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his gratitude to QC for building a beautiful mosque with modern facilities.
