Beledweyne (HOL) - The Minister of Internal Affairs of Hirshabelle regional state, Abdi Dahir Gure Karore, has dismissed the Mayor of Beledweyne, the capital of Hiiraan region, Nadar Tabah Malin.
According to a decree from the office of Minister Karore on Sunday, Abdullahi Salad Kugey has been appointed as the new mayor of Beledweyne.
The Minister of Internal Affairs has directed the security agencies of the regional administration and those of Beledweyne town to cooperate with the new mayor, Abdullahi Salad Kugey.
The removal of Nadar Tabah comes amid tensions between the Hirshabelle and the Hiiraan State administration over control of Beledweyne town.
