Dhusamareb (HOL) - At least 23 al-Shabab militants were killed in planned operations conducted by Somali army forces supported by international partners in central Somalia on Friday.
The joint forces targeted areas including Ali Yabal, Qalan Qal, and Sumadale, all situated in the El-Dhere district of the Galgadud region.
Military officials stated that militants who had gathered in these areas were the primary targets, with an additional 20 militants sustaining injuries.
In August 2022, the Somali army, backed by locally mobilized fighters, initiated a military offensive that resulted in the seizure of parts of central Somalia from the militant group.
