Mogadishu (HOL) - Seven individuals, including the Huriwa police station commander, have been detained in relation to the kidnapping and subsequent murder of businessman Abukar Ahmed Kabah, announced Qasim Ahmed Roble, spokesperson for the Somali Police Force.
Roble stated that intensive government efforts have led to the arrests in the Heliwaa district incident, highlighting an ongoing investigation aimed at apprehending further suspects.
Five of those arrested were civilians. The police spokesperson indicated that following the conclusion of the investigation, the military court is expected to address the case.
Kabah, who worked as a trader, was found dead in the Garsbaaley area, the victim of an armed group that abducted and then murdered him, leaving his body in a trash heap.
The murder is part of an uptick in violent deaths in Mogadishu this February.
