Galkacyo (HOL) - At least 20 people were killed and 50 others wounded in inter-clan fighting in the west of Mudug in north-central Somalia.
According to local sources, militias from the Sa’ad and Lelakase sub-clans have been fighting in a rural area between Goldogob and Saah Qurun over the past two days.
Elders from both sides have intensified their efforts to end the conflict.The administrations of Galmudug and Puntland have called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the hostilities between the two militias.
Governors from the Mudug region of both administrations have also called for the immediate deployment of joint forces to the conflict zone to prevent further escalation.
