Somali, Djibouti Presidents discuss promoting peace and stability in Horn of Africa

    Djibouti (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Djibouti on Wednesday to meet with his counterpart, Ismail Omar Guelleh.

    The two presidents discussed strengthening their deep relationship and enhancing cooperation in various fields, such as security and the economy.

    They agreed to bolster joint efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, which aligns with the current political and security situation.

    President Mohamud commended President Guelleh for his significant role in maintaining peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.

    Djibouti is one of the five major contributors of troops to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), formerly known as the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM). The country has deployed 960 troops based in Beledweyne, which serves as the headquarters for Sector Four.
