Heavy fighting in Bulo Haji as al-Shabaab clashes with Somali government troops

    Mogadishu (HOL) — Al-Shabaab militants clashed with government forces and the Jubbaland administration in the Bulo Haji area of the Lower Jubba region on Wednesday evening, following an attack on the town that had been seized from the group two days earlier.

    Local sources reported intense but brief fighting, with both sides using heavy and light weapons. However, official casualty figures remain unclear, as neither the military nor the Jubbaland command has issued statements regarding the losses.

    The attack coincided with a visit from Jubbaland officials, including Second Vice President Abdiqadir Haji Mohamud, who arrived in Bulo Haji yesterday. The officials urged the army to continue their operations against Al-Shabaab.
