Somali government forces display fuel containers and other supplies seized in the Galgaduud region, believed to be intended for the Al-Shabaab group. The operation also led to the capture of two women suspected to be members of the militant group.
Dhusamareb (HOL) — Somali government forces in the Galgaduud region have seized several barrels of fuel and other supplies believed to be destined for Al-Shabaab-controlled areas, officials reported.
The operation also resulted in the killing of an armed Al-Shabaab member and the capture of two women alleged to be members of the militant group.
The Somali National Army (SNA) neutralized the armed man, who was carrying an AK-47 rifle, at a checkpoint in the Masagawaa area before he could launch an attack, according to an official statement.
The two women were apprehended while travelling in a vehicle suspected of transporting supplies to Al-Shabaab.
Government forces in Galgaduud have intensified their monitoring of vehicle movements, leading to multiple interceptions of vehicles carrying supplies to the extremist group. These efforts are part of a broader campaign to disrupt Al-Shabaab's supply lines and weaken their operational capabilities.
