The forum, which is part of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), saw the signing of six radio and television agreements and the announcement of 20 cooperation projects throughout the continent.

China-Africa relations have developed significantly since the early 2000s.

The event also included a China-Africa Think Tank High-Level Dialogue, where experts discussed prioritizing modernization in media reporting and research.

In addition to his speech, Aweis engaged in discussions with Chinese and African counterparts on enhancing media exchanges and collaboration.

The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit in Beijing is scheduled for September 4-6. It has been a central platform for strengthening strategic partnerships between China and Africa, focusing on development areas such as infrastructure, trade, and media cooperation. The 2024 summit will mark the first gathering of the China-Africa family in Beijing since 2018, following disruptions caused by the global pandemic.
