Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali government forces, including the Danab commandos supported by the Jubbaland Darwish army, conducted a successful operation on Tuesday morning in the Lower Jubba region, resulting in the death of 32 al-Shabaab militants.
According to a statement from the Federal Government, the joint forces targeted the Yadi and Halimo Adey areas in the Badhadhe district. The operation led to the capture of three al-Shabaab members, and efforts are ongoing to secure the area.
The operation follows a significant clash last month in Jubbaland, where over 80 al-Shabaab fighters were killed as they attempted to overrun three army bases.
Government forces repelled the attacks and safely detonated four car bombs near Kismayo, about 80 km southwest of the port city.
