The Somali Premier League, established in 1967, is the top tier of professional football in Somalia. Despite political instability and limited infrastructure, the league continues to foster local talent and maintain its significance in Somali sports culture. The league typically consists of 8 to 10 teams and operates on a promotion and relegation system with the Somali Second Division.
