Beledweyne (HOL) - A gunman killed a prominent businessman named Hassan Mohamud Osoble, also known as Hidiri, in the Mahas district of the Hiiraan region on Wednesday, residents say
The assailant, reportedly a close relative of the deceased, opened fire on the businessman, who later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, according to local residents.
The motive behind the killing of the businessman remains unclear. He was not only a successful entrepreneur but also a respected elder in the district.
Local officials have not issued any statements regarding the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility for the killing.
