MOGADISHU (HOL) - In a significant blow to the terrorist organization al-Shabab, Somali security forces successfully intercepted a cache of weapons and military supplies for the second time in less than 48 hours belonging Al shabab at the Mogadishu port.
State Minister of the Ministry of Internal Security, Mohamed Ali Haga, addressed the media, revealing that 10 suspects, including licensed businessmen involved in importing goods, have been apprehended in connection with the operation."Somali Security forces are resolute in their commitment to combat Al-Shabaab, and today's seizure comprised a variety of explosives, drones, communication devices, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and other materials," declared State Minister of Internal Security, Mohamed Ali Haga.
Minister Haga emphasized the significant strides made by the Somali government in the ongoing battle against Al-Shabaab, a group that has recently faced multiple setbacks.
Just a day prior, the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency intercepted a cache of weapons and military supplies belonging Al shabab at Mogadishu port and the airport.
These successful operations demonstrate the continued determination of Somali security forces to disrupt the activities of Al-Shabaab and safeguard the well-being of the nation's citizens.
