Mogadishu (HOL) - Police in Mogadishu's Dharkeenley district apprehended a woman on Sunday believed to have murdered her stepson.
The incident was reported to the media by the Banadir Regional Police Command. They claimed that the woman viciously beat the boy and that the severity of his injuries caused his death.
"On the evening of May 13, 2023, at approximately 8:00 pm, officers from Dharkeenley Police Station detained a woman responsible for the brutal killing of her stepson. During the incident, the police managed to rescue the deceased boy's sister, who had also sustained serious injuries. The suspect is currently in police custody and will soon be brought before a court for trial," said a statement issued by the general command of the Banadir police department.
Sources indicate that the father of the deceased boy and the rescued girl is living abroad, leaving his children under the care of his wife, the accused woman.
