Mogadishu (HOL) - Veteran Somali journalist, Ismail Sheikh Khalifa, passed away in Mogadishu on Wednesday night, the family announced.
The late journalist had been suffering from injuries sustained in an explosion that had been fitted to his car in Mogadishu on December 4, 2018, which resulted in one of his legs being amputated.
Ismail Sheikh Khalifa was a journalist and teacher who had served the Somali people for a long time. He was also an active member of Somali civil society.
The Secretary General of the Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ), Farah Omar Noor, extended his condolences to the entire Somali community, particularly to the family and friends of the late journalist.
Farah emphasized that Ismail Sheikh was one of the pillars of the Somali media.
