Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia's President, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, welcomed a delegation of Ziraat Bank executives and Turkish business people keen on investing in the country.
The delegation unveiled their plans to open a Ziraat Bank branch in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, to strengthen business relations between the two nations and bolster confidence among overseas investors.
During the meeting, President Mohamud emphasized the government's commitment to attracting and supporting foreign investments, showcasing the numerous opportunities available in Somalia.
In addition to meeting with President Mohamud, the Turkish delegation visited the headquarters of the Central Bank of Somalia in Mogadishu. Led by the Charge d'Affaires at the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu, Caner Ordu, the delegation engaged in extensive discussions regarding the forthcoming inauguration of the Ziraat Bank branch.
They discussed Ziraat Katilim's future plans to inaugurate a branch in Mogadishu. Ziraat Bank and Egypt's Banque Misr were the two foreign banks
awarded licenses to operate in Somalia in July 2022.
