Las Anod (HOL) - Somaliland's Minister of Information, Saleeban Yusuf Ali Koore, a close confidante of President Muse Bihi Abdi, has accused Somaliland's Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdirisaaq Khalif Ahmed, of providing financial support to the SSC-Khatumo forces fighting against the Somaliland army.

"Abdirisaaq Khalif used the property given to him to solve the problem; he used it to provide the group with fuel and ammunition," Minister Koore told local media in Hargeisa on Monday.

The Minister accused Khalif of being a traitor, stating that he has always worked towards the destruction of Somaliland and has caused numerous problems for the country's independence.

"Abdirisaaq Khalif has made his opposition to the Republic of Somaliland's independence clear. He has tried to deceive the nation. He has become the only person who has doubled the problem in Las Anod. He has not ruled in the interest of the nation," Minister Koore said.

The Minister accused Khalif of being two-facades, claiming that during a council of ministers meeting in Las Anod, he used to tell them that all traditional elders belonged to the Somali government and that Al Shabaab groups were fighting in the town.

A day ago, Speaker Abdirisaaq Khalif Ahmed accused Somaliland's President Muse Bihi of obstructing all efforts to bring peace to Las Anod.

Abdirisaaq Khalif also accused Somaliland's army of committing war crimes in the town, stating that the town was bombed on the orders of Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi.

The Speaker stated that the government's claim that it was fighting terrorist groups in Las Anod has spiralled out of control and described it as an offensive move. "The army had been indiscriminately bombing the town for three weeks, including hospitals."
