Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali armed forces thwarted a car bomb attack by al Shabab militants in Hussein-Agey village, located in the Masagaway district of the Galgadud region, on Wednesday.
Security officials said that the planned operation took place after the security agencies received an intelligence report from the residents, which led to the success of preventing the explosives-rigged vehicle.
The operation comes a day after the security forces, supported by local clan militia, initiated military movements to liberate the eastern areas of the Galgadud region. Troops from the Galcad district also went to the Galhareri district, traversing the connecting road between the two districts.
Additionally, the forces conducted a military operation in El Gorof, El Bore, and Gedi Koror villages, situated at the border between the Hiran and Galgaduud regions.
