Mohamed, a London resident with his family, boasts an extensive background in social housing. He has authored two books addressing the housing crisis, including his recent publication, "A Home of One's Own." Beyond his legal career, Mohamed is a renowned broadcaster and public speaker.

CSS has also welcomed six new members to its Board.

"I am tremendously honoured to be elected Chair of CSS. It will be a challenging task to fill Keith Jenkins' shoes, especially during this transitional period with so much happening," Mohamed said in a statement. He expressed his gratitude to departing members for their unwavering support and dedication over the years, and conveyed enthusiasm to work alongside the skilled new Board members.

Coin Street currently operates four housing co-ops on its site: Mulberry (established in 1988), Palm (1994), Redwood (1995), and Iroko (2001), totalling 220 homes.
