Detectives based in Starehe are on the trail of a suspect who attacked and killed a 51-year-old man after an argument.
The DCI said the suspect killed the man after they disagreed over supplying water at an Eastleigh apartment.
"The suspect only identified as Issa went into hiding immediately after killing Abdifatah Hassan Barre using a Somali sword," DCI said.
The deceased’s son Abdifatah Hassan said his father had been asked by a client to supply water using his water bowser at a residence near Almin Hospital in Eastleigh.
Upon their arrival, they were confronted by a group of business rivals who claimed that the Hassans had invaded their water vending ‘territory.’
A bitter argument ensued prompting the suspect to reach for a Somali sword and struck the deceased on the left side of his chest killing him instantly.
The suspect then fled the scene to an unknown destination.
Efforts to save the man’s life by rushing him to the nearby Almin Hospital were fruitless as he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives are following crucial leads on the suspect's whereabouts.
