Mogadishu (HOL) - Secretary-General of the Lower House of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Abdikarim Haji Abdi Buux, was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Secretaries-General of African Parliaments (ASGAP).
The secretaries' conference was held on the sidelines of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) standing committees' proceedings in Midrand, South Africa, from August 29 to August 31.
Somalia was chosen as a committee member for the first time, and Abdikarim Buux stated that this step would improve the Somali parliament's reputation.
Somalia's Lower House parliament speaker, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nor Madobe, attended the 11th Conference of Speakers of National and Regional Parliaments at the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) headquarters in Midrand, South Africa, from 1-2 of September.
