"Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to him do we return. The terrorist explosions in Beledweyne illustrate the aim of our enemy, which is to slaughter our leaders and civilians.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has instructed the federal security agencies in Hirshabelle state and the regional government level to increase security to prevent other terrorist attacks as the government continues its push into Al Shabaab territory.

The President urged the residents of Hirshabelle to maintain their unity and solidarity while supporting the Somali National Army to liberate the areas where militant extremists are plotting and murdering.

The Somali Prime Minister has ordered the Ministry of Health and other government agencies to assist the explosion victims immediately.

He once again called on the Somali people to strengthen the fight against the extremist groups that have destroyed the nation's lives, wealth and honour.
