Somali Prime Minister meets his Djiboutian counterpart

Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre met with his Djiboutian counterpart Abdulkadir Kamil Mohamed in Djibouti on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Hamsa and members of his delegation held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Djibouti, Abdulkadir Kamil Mohamed and members of his cabinet to accelerate the relationship and cooperation between the two countries and to realize the common vision of the two countries.

Hamza Abdi Barre commended Djibouti for sending medical aid and doctors to Somalia to assist victims of last week's twin explosions in Mogadishu.

He pledged to strengthen bilateral cooperation on climate change, drought security, and development.

Djibouti was alongside Turkey and Ethiopia in sending medical aid to Mogadishu to help the Somali people injured in the two-car bomb explosions at the Zoobe intersection on Saturday, October 29.

The Prime Minister of Djibouti, Abdulkadir Kamil Mohamed, said that his government is committed to supporting the government and the Somali people in this critical time dealing with the disaster.

Djibouti is one of the countries that contributes troops to the African Union-led peacekeeping force in Somalia, which has endured more than three decades of chaos and conflict.
