Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended the opening ceremony for the 31st session of the Arab League Summit in Algiers, Algeria, on Tuesday.
It is the first time leaders from the Arab world have gathered for the summit since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Mohamud is expected to deliver a speech on the Somali government's ongoing battle with militant extremism.
The President leads a delegation that includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abshir Omar Huruuse, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Elmi Mohamed Nur, and the ambassadors to Egypt and Algeria.
During his visit to Algeria, the President will meet with the leaders of Arab countries and international organizations during sideline events for the summit.
