Landmine kills government soldier, injures three others

    Mogadishu (HOL) - A landmine blast killed a government soldier and injured three others in Afgoye district in the Lower Shabelle region on Wednesday.

    Eyewitnesses said the soldiers were attacked by the landmine explosion while passing through Haantadeer road.

    No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for recent attacks against security forces in the country.

    At least five people were killed, and 14 others were injured after a powerful car bomb attack targeted a popular hotel frequented by Hirshabelle authorities in Jowhar on Sunday. Al Shabaab said it was behind the attack.
