Police in Hargeisa make arrest in fatal double shooting

    Hargeisa (HOL) - Somaliland police have arrested a man who shot one man dead and seriously wounded another earlier this month.

    The suspect, who the police have not yet named, killed Abdi Hundule Fidhin and wounded 27-year-old Sakariye Mohamud Sheikh Muumin on the 13th of this month.

    A police spokesman said on Saturday that the man confessed to the attack and will be charged.

    He added that the man's intended target was Fidhin, with whom he had a land dispute, but he shot the Mumin to confuse the police and make the act appear terroristic.

    "It was an organized murder. The suspect wanted to make the personal dispute appear like a terrorist act.”

    According to the witnesses, the suspect opened fire on the victims while running. He managed to flee the crime scene.
