Former BBC presenter found safe after being reported missing

    London (HOL) - The family of Abdullahi Haji, the former BBC Somali presenter who was reported missing since Thursday, has been found safe.

    A colleague of Haji at the BBC told HOL that Haji had been out of town visiting a friend but didn't tell his family about his travel plans.

    Friends and family became worried when Haji did not answer his phone on Friday and contacted the police to file a missing person's report. The police located him within several hours.

    Abdullahi Haji worked at the BBC Somali Service for nearly four decades and is well-known within the Somali community.
