British-born female terrorist Samantha "Whiite-Widow" Lethwaite spotted in Yemen

Wednesday November 10, 2021

Nairobi- HOL- The world's most wanted woman, Samantha Lewthwaite, famously known as the 'white widow' in East Africa, has been traced to Yemen, where she is fighting alongside Al Qaeda.

The lady who was actively involved in Kenya's Westgate attack in 2013 managed to flee Kenya to Somalia with the help of Al Shabaab militants before she finally went to Yemen.

According to The Sun, a publication based in the United Kingdom, earlier this week said that the woman is still alive and doing well but unable to leave the war-tone area.

"Lewthwaite's last known location is Yemen. But trying to get intelligence there is as tough as in Syria where the Islamic State regime is on its highest pick," The Sun reported.

In Kenya, investigators attached to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) believe that she has facilitated terror attacks on behalf of Al-Shabaab.

Lethwaite was married to Germaine Lindsay alias Abdullah Shaheed Jamal, one of the attackers in London's tube bombings in July 2005 that killed 26 people - including Lindsay - leaving over 700 injured in London.

She once was able to bypass officers in Kenya when they raided her home in Mombasa, Kenya.

Immediately after the incident, the woman sneaked out of the UK and settled in South Africa before moving to Tanzania and settling in Mombasa.

Kenyan authorities cannot explain how and when she managed to leave the country.

Born on December 5, 1983, the terror suspect is known of many aliases Asmantara, Sherafiyah, Sherafiyah Lewthwaite and Natalia Webb.

Currently, she is married to Hassan Maalim Ibrahim and only has one child from her previous relationship.
