Galkayo (HOL) - The Islamic State in Somalia, the official ISIS-affiliated franchise in Somalia, has recently published pictures of their fighters in Puntland.
The militant extremist group published the photos of their Eid celebration in their camp in the mountainous region of Bari, where they have been operating for the last four years.
The pictures come on the heels of an operation led by Puntland Security Forces. Abdisamad Mohamed Gallan, the regional Security Minister, said that most of the ISIS fighters had been killed or removed from the area during an operation a little over a week ago.
Abdul Qadir Mumin, a Somali-born British citizen, leads the group. Mumin previously worked with Al-Shabaab as a senior religious advisor.
