Mogadishu (HOL) - Prime Minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble and his delegation are scheduled to travel to Cairo on Monday after receiving an official invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The PM will be accompanied by members of his cabinet and is scheduled to meet with senior Egyptian officials and members of the Somali community in the north African country.
President Al-Sisi and Prime Minister Roble are scheduled to discuss Somali and Egyptian bi-lateral relations.
Since taking over responsibility for security and elections in the country, Prime Minister Roble has sought to restore and improve diplomatic relations between the Somali government and regional countries.
The Prime Minister Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble chaired a cyber-meeting on Sunday night with members of the National Consultative Council (NCC). They agreed to convene in Mogadishu on August 19 to discuss preparations for the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
The NCC is expected to discuss electoral procedures and also on securing funding for the upcoming elections.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble urged Federal Member States (FMS) to accelerate the implementation of the elections to the Upper House to avoid delays to the election schedule.
