DHUSAMAREEB (HOL) - The newly elected President of Galmudug Ahmed Abdi Qoor Qoor Tuesday signed the state’s 2020 budget, the first since he came into office in late February.

The $17.2 million budget is up by over 50% from last year’s which stood at $7 million. The budget was recently approved by the state cabinet and passed by parliament.According to the 2020 National Budget which stood $476 million, Galmudug state was allocated $3.2 million down from $4.6 in 2019.
The overall allocations to the five federal member states, Somaliland and Banaadir Regional Administration (BRA) amount to $35 million with BRA taking the lion’s share at $16.3 million.
The signing of the 2020 Appropriations Bill was attended by the state vice president and speaker of parliament.
