MOGADISHU (HOL) - Three soldiers were killed and two pedestrians injured in a landmine blast at Taleh Junction in Mogadishu’s Hodan district.
Sources at the scene confirmed the death of the soldiers. According to eyewitnesses who spoke to HOL, the vehicle carrying the soldiers drove into an IED suspected to have been planted to target the soldiers.Two people who were in the same area at the time of the incident were injured, eye witnesses said.
There was no immediate comment from the Somali security officials.
The militant group Al-Shabaab has severally planted IEDs on roads used by the soldiers in the outskirts of the city.
