Somaliland president, Musa Bihi Abdi , accepted call to cooperate with Federal Government of Somalia.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met in his office today with Musa Bihi Abdi, President of the Somaliland administration and his entourage, disclosed office of the prime minister.
Discussion between the two parties focused on peace, security and the security of Ethiopians in Somaliland and the two parties have reportedly reached on consensus to work together in those areas.
Strengthening bilateral relations and people-to-people relation were also discussion areas.
Abiy Ahmed also called upon leader of the Somaliland administration to strengthen relation with the Federal Government of Somalia.
Muse Bihi Abdi accepted the call to work with the Federal Government of Somalia and to strengthen regional integration.
In what seems to a reaction to the development, in a tweeter message Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (‘Farmaajo’) government called Muse Bihi Abdi’s agreement for cooperation with the Federal Government of Somalia and to the idea of regional integration “a progressive step in the right direction”
The office of president of FGS tweeted “The FGS lauds the move by President Musa Bihi of Somaliland Administration to engage in close cooperation with the Federal Government. The FGS considers this move a progressive step in the right direction and applauds President Bihi ‘s commitment in this regard.”
Mr. Musa reportedly hailed Abiy Ahmed’s measures to promote regional integration and his government’s willingness to work closely with the government of Somalia.
The office of the prime minister of Ethiopia also disclosed that port usage and economic cooperation issues were discussed.
