Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia's defense ministry has suspended it's Director General following shake-up within the ministry ranks.
In a directive issued on 9th of this month, Minister, Hassan Ali Mohamed said Sokor Jama Geyre was suspended as apart of the ongoing reshuffle in the security sector.
Warsame Mohamud Hassan has been appointed as acting director general in his place.
Geyre has not yet commented on the suspension and the behind it.
The move comes barely two weeks after the ministry conducted a separate mini-reshuffle in an attempt to curb the recent spate of attacks by Al-Shabaab militants.
Abdi Mohamed Hassan was appointed as the new deputy commander of the Somali National Army (SNA).
Hassan replaced Odawaa Yusuf Rageh who was appointed as new commander of the infantry forces.
