The accuser alleges that The Weeknd modelled his ‘Starboy’ record which is the lead single off his 2016 album which has the same title according to her own record titled “Hooyo” which was released in 2009.

According to TMZ, documents in the lawsuit claims that music blogs and media platforms pointed out the similarity between the two songs and that thousands of people agreed with Yasminah.

It is also reported that the two producers of “Hooyah” had also threatened lawsuits, but were later settled for an undisclosed amount. The singer is believed to have never gotten a cut off those settlements, which is why she’s pursuing her own case.
