20-year-old Hamdia Ahmed, a student at University of Southern Maine, says she and her family were having a conversation in Somali while waiting in the drive-thru.

She says the employee on the microphone told them to “stop yelling” and to “leave, or I’m calling the cops”.

Ahmed says when after officers arrived, she was served a ‘no-trespass notice’ that banned her from the store for a year.

The franchise owner and Dunkin’ corporate have both reached out to Ahmed to apologize, with the owner promising ‘training’ for his employees. Ahmed says her family were ‘traumatized’ by the experience.
