Major hotels a prime target for attack around the world

Major motels in style with vacationers or Westerners across the globe have been prime targets of jihadist teams for years.

Listed here are a number of the main attacks over the previous decade:

– Kabul: wave of Taliban strikes –

Gunmen stormed the Intercontinental lodge in Kabul on January 20, 2018, opening hearth on friends and employees and taking dozens hostage. No less than six individuals together with a foreigner have been killed. The assault was claimed by the Taliban.

– Tunisia: seashore capturing spree –

– Libya: Islamic State assault –

– Baghdad: coordinated suicide bombings

On January 25, 2010, at the very least 36 individuals have been killed and more than 70 wounded in coordinated suicide bombings towards three inns in Baghdad, the Palestine, the Babel and Hamra.

– Jakarta: double attack –

On July 17, 2009, nine individuals died in a double suicide bombing concentrating on the posh Ritz-Carlton and Marriott motels in Jakarta’s enterprise district.

– Mumbai: 166 lifeless –
