Mogadishu (HOL) - Members of Lower House will be convening today in the Parliament Building to discuss on the election of the speaker which is expected to take place in the forthcoming days.
The lawmakers are expected to appoint a Parliamentary poll Committee to hold the election of the speaker of the Lower House.
The committee will be tasked to set date for the election of the speakership.
Today's House sitting will the first session to be held since the former parliament speaker quit from the office.
Jawari stepped down from the office on the 9th of this month. His resignation was the culmination of a month-long crisis that threatened the political stability of Somalia.
Several candidates have shown their interests in the position which vacated by Mohamed Osman Jawari.
