Kin Jama is a popular Somali songstress. Her hit single "Garo Jaceylka" has garnered over 3 million views. Her mix of Western and Somali style has gained her a fanbase that stretches out as far as the Somali diaspora.

Salad called on the youth not to attend the performances which he called dangerous to religion and Somali society.

"I call upon the public, especially young people not to attend and spend their money on that show which could lead to sin against God,” he warned.

The cleric also chastised some government officials for leading and organizing the event in Mogadishu.

It was not immediately clear whether the show will still go on.

The organizers of the concert have neither commented on the remarks of Sheikh Salad.
